Back in the 1990s Sir Mix-A-Lot sang, “I like big butts and I cannot lie” in the mega hit “Baby Got Back”. In 2014 Meghan Trainor sang, “It’s all about that base” in her 2014 smash hit. In 2015, the booty trend continues. Magazine covers and Instagram are full of pictures and talk about the butt. Kim Kardashian’s butt has been the topic of conversation for years and pictures featuring her backyard “broke the internet.” Before her Jennifer Lopez’s backside helped make her famous. And of course, those who know me well know that I have a little ‘junk in my trunk” as well.
I am actually glad that the butt is getting more attention, especially when it comes to workouts. It is an area that we all sit on way too much everyday. As we age, the butt gets saggy and droopy. We literally lose our backside as the muscle disappears year after year.
By now we all know the cliche, “If you don’t use it, you’ll lose it.” When it comes to the butt, I prefer to use it and never lose it! I put together this simple and quick leg and butt blasting workout using furniture sliders. The workout is a Tabata style workout with 20 seconds of work and 10 seconds of rest. There are only 4 exercises. In just 8 minutes you can lift and tone tone that droopy booty. I have it all here on video. Let’s do it!
*You can purchase furniture sliders for less than $15 at any home improvement store. Make sure you get the appropriate slider (for carpet or hard surfaces) for the floor you will be doing your workouts on. Here are the ones that I used in this video: http://www.lowes.com/pd_257954-46422-4704095L_1z0ylxk__?productId=4086784&pl=1
